we're young, we're arrogant, boastful, and ignorant

Have the young forgotten about attitude, poise, tolerance? Have the young ignored the Eastern cultures cultivated by the ancesters of our rich earth? Have the young forgotten about politeness and manners? Okay, call me a conservative, I'm the girl from the nineteenth century.

Hello. I'm 20 years old now. Why I'm courageous enough to finally let all this out of my head? Because I'm absolutely certain no one would bother reading this. If I'm lucky.

Anyway, I just bumped into a silly but rather commonly complicated issue last night. So I was following this person on this social network media, let's not mention names, and "it" was a musician. And "it" claimed to be a non-believer and blah blah blah all those typical arguments those people from the ancient times have put in our mouths since ages. And yes, "it" was young.

I read "it's" timeline and daaammnn "it" was so full of "it"self. Arrogant, boastful, ignorant, so full of "it"self. "It's" a musician but it seems "it" is also completely a part of everything else. Maybe "it" could participate in a debate of science and religion as well, seeing as "it" knows so much... I'm not really used to openly judging people, honestly, as this is all supposed to occur in my head, but I can't help but let it all out because it's been stuck in my brain for literally an eternity -an eternity consisted of 9 hours.

Okay, "it's" a "she". I'm tired of typing "it" and it doesn't seem nice, and there you go... I've revealed her identity. Here's what I'd like to say to her when someday I get to meet her and I 'm able to bottle up the courage to say it:

Well, actually, you remind me of me. I mean, I'm sorta like that too. I couldn't possibly picture myself as a musician, but let's put it this way: in an alternate universe where I was a young architect, I would be a cook, poet, astronomist, computer engineer, and writer at the same time. You know, if things were in my perspective of interests. Maybe it's a trait of a gemini like me, to be interested in so many different things, but there's no need to be damn boastful about it so everyone knows you're knowledgeable and incredibly busy and famous and such and such. You're actually on the verge of sounding completely superficial and thick. You act like you're really smart, and not even concerning whatever is going on in your field. Stick to what you do! If you really mean what you're doing, then stop boasting about it. What you're doing is, truthfully, boasting in disguise. The world doesn't rotate around you. You aren't the center of the universe, the spotlight isn't on you.
...
Okay, well, you got the spotlight on you, hells yeah!, but here's the thing. Did you know that you bite your own tongue when you talk, I mean, what you're telling others not to do, you are actually doing it yourself. It's okay for an ordinary person to be like that, it's tolerable, like people like me who's a nobody, practically invisible, but you're a famous person whom young people look up to! People love your music! You can't deny that you're not ordinary. And it's been betrothed upon extraordinary people to act for others, it's the nature of it, that what you do could affect others. You probably hate it, but it's an offer you can't refuse. I know you're trying to be true to yourself. You can't please everyone, but at least don't hurt them as well. Seriously, there are many people who admire you and look up to you. Don't hurt them. But it's really the contradiction in your own arguments that's bothering me. And your position in our world. Talk about appreciation and gratitude. You talk about being humble, grateful, not hurting, all that, but it doesn't actually show through your attitude. And well, it's in a young person to be ignorant right, so when other people try to correct people like that, they double-talk and the arrogance bounces off those words right back to the deliverer. Yep, such artful tongue-twisters we young people are. When the truth is, those people actually care about you.

(In my dreams...)

Anyway, back to the third-person view. So, I was interested in following her because I realized we shared some of the same personality traits. She has many faces and so do I. She is variously moody and so am I. A transition of her personality occurs in the different typical group of friends she's changingly in and so does mine. But as I ate up her words, I swallowed more than what was acceptable. I'm actually quite interested in her music but reading her words and making out her character truly brought me disappointment. It turned out to be true, what people said about her. She is just plain arrogant.

My point is, there is this arrogant, ignorant, typical attitude of the young and reckless that hates preachment. I know, because I'm one of them. I hate being told. This is right, that is bad. I do what I want, you leave me alone. But then, admit it! We're arrogant little bastards who don't like the idea that we have to submit to the Almighty Power and instead run off for liberation. (No need to be angry, God knows what I mean by this). Don't make up excuses. "I don't believe in God. I believe in science." How vain. Hell, unless you're qualified enough for a science degree I will have no respect for your kind.

What, now you think I'm judgmental? Don't you realize it's vice versa? Really, I'm just trying to fight off you guys and your judgmental arguments to us. Secretly, (and most times even openly) you think we who believe are nonsensical, idiots. You say us believers think we're better than you because we believe in God and that you are sinners, but the truth is you think of us in the same way: you think you're higher and smarter than us because we believe in what you call myths, superstition, the Almighty Power, while you believe in what you call exact science. You must sound smarter, eh? When science itself did not create itself. And when you don't even know that much at all.

And about the Qur'an. According to my understanding, everything is there, the very basic of things, in the Qur'an. Islam, unlike some religions, do not at all ban their followers from studying the depth of science, the world and its origin. Islam merges science within its preaching. I understand some certain religions ban this and prevent their followers to heading towards such paths (correct me if I'm wrong).

Here are some interesting verses I found in the Qur'an. Ar-Rahman:

When the sky is rent asunder, and it becomes red like ointment: (37)

Pardon me, I just need to write them down, they're beautiful! Don't worry, we're still under the context of 'science'. Ar-Rahman:

(He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: (17)
He has let free the two Seas meething together: (19)
Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: (20)
Out of them come Pearls and Coral: (22)
And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: (24)

And more! Ar-Rahman:

He has created man: (3)
He has taught him an intelligent speech (4)
The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; (5)
And the herbs and the trees- Both (alike) bow in adoration. (6)

So, God gave us these tongues to talk our way out of matters. We young people especially, an intelligent speech alright. Proved my point.

Okay I'm gonna end right there before somebody starts calling me a preacher! I'm learning just like everyone else is.

I once asked my aunt a question, "Is faith merely built on the foundation of the fear of God? Should we love God or fear God?" I have a vague memory of the exact answers she gave me but I understand now, even though I didn't understand then. What my aunt meant was that no one knows exactly. All we have is faith. God is not a person, but He is a God (quote my brother). He is the Almighty Unknown Power, and a person like me can never understand the entirety of His actions upon us. If an Emperor's servant obeys the unjust rulings of his fault-prone human Emperor, then what makes it acceptable for us to not do the same to God, our creator who we know must be wiser than all of us put together? Don't get hotheaded, I'm trying to convince myself here as well. If we don't find the answer now, maybe someday we will. We'll just have to wait. And for the moment, all we need to have is faith.

Okay, back to the point. As you may have understood, I am targeting the young people. The young, who just like me, don't know much about anything that's really going on in this world. I don't understand what's really going on with those scientists and the world, their real issue, the evolution theory, God doesn't exist and all that, and therefore I don't discuss it, but at least I hope I'm qualified enough to grasp the understanding of people of my age's thinking and deliver this to them. I was trying to show that the Qur'an does teach (if not a lot, a little bit of) science, it gives its followers hints of much larger science for them to pursue. And the second, was that young people who claim themselves non-believers should stop being know-it-alls and stuck-ups and hide under the name of science, especially when you're not a scientist yourself.

You don't work on something, you don't do research on anything, you don't prove a theory whatsoever, you believe in your scientists. You actually take pride in superficiality and it just seriously annoys me.

If you hate God so much because you're sick of His follower's attitudes then hate them not the God. Yes, I'm sick of those people too, "the destructive", my supposedly brothers and sisters of Islam. But the problem is, they do not... think. This is the problem. That is why the Qur'an urges us to think. Or else, we will just end up like the false, the fake, those who claim themselves something they are not. Those who end up bringing destruction to the name of Islam, when the message is clearly to spread peace.

Just be careful of what you say, you might sound truly shallow-minded to those truly knowledgeable ones out there. Whatever you say might one day bite back at ya'.

Hey, that was just me. Just sharing my thoughts, absolutely didn't mean to preach and point fingers at all. At least, let us just live in peace together, non-believers and believers, let's just stop this debate and actually materialize our belief of tolerance. I'd really love it if you'd admit you were an atheist without having to come up with scientific explanations when you're not qualified for it. (There I go again...) Or philosophical explanations, in the case of those young people in the field of philosophy. (Except that philosophy is much harder, which was why I chose not to discuss it at all.)

Lemme just conclude that I don't have a problem if you don't believe in God or anything, just don't say things you don't know and act like you're smarter than everyone else because you know very little about science. Superficial people get on my nerves.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I wrote this when I was...pretty much consumed with anger, lol.
Peace.
